A HUMBLE THANKYOU

I can finally sit for longer than a few minutes and want to thank all of you for your kindness and healing wishes.

Having a knee replaced was more stressful than I thought it would be. Adding to that I popped a deep stitch and started bleeding just as I thought I was getting better. I was put on bed rest for five days, ice packs and a brace to keep the leg straight.

I know I will heal and thank all of you for your prayers, but it is going to take more time than I originally thought. It is an exhausting surgery and took me by surprise.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration. I hope to be back soon.

Bless you, all. ♥♥♥

Have You Seen the Moon?

November has come to the rabbit patch in a friendly fashion.  Days are born slowly with fog and make the territory look enchanted, for a while.  The sky has been shades of lavender and pink-and the sun a very bright tangerine color at dawn. By mid morning ,  the November sky is a soft blue and the air is mild.  The woodlands are only hinting of autumn now , but daily, I see the leaves brightening. Fresh plowed fields are littered now with autumn leaves in colors like gold and ruby.  Last night, Christian and I watched a silver moon rise over a field.  I was thinking how beautiful it was to stand with my son, now a young man, by a field, in the twilight hour.  We have done it a hundred times before, but this does not spoil the effect in the least. Sometimes, one of the older…

Smorgasbord Posts from Your Archives – Can you Hear the Rumbling by Patricia Salamone

Smorgasbord Blog Magazine

Welcome to the series where you can share four of your links from your archives here on my blog to a new audience. Perhaps posts that you wrote at the beginning of your blogging experience that deserve another showcase. If you have book promotion posts then please contact me separately for other options. Details of how to get in touch with me at the end of the post.

Today Patricia Salamone shares something that she wrote in the 1970s which has as much relevance today as it did then. A short post but a powerful message.

Can you Hear the Rumbling by Patricia Salamone.

Can you hear the rumbling?
If you listen close you might.
Can you see despair and poverty?
It is an awful sight!
Can you hear the children crying out in pain?
Can you see their faces as they’re calling out in vain?

Each day you line…

GONE FOR A WHILE

knee

I will be offline for a while. I am busy doing all the preop instructions, seeing primary doctor and surgeon, going to the hospital for a class and speak to the head nurse, filling out tons of paperwork, etc. I have to have my knee replaced, I was told it’s not that big of a deal. The photo above doesn’t look like no big deal to me. Had to stop taking certain meds starting today, and no vitamins, or anti-inflammatory, have to shower with a powerful antibiotic soap every day including the day of surgery. The photo above is what I can expect, ugh! I am stressed but I know I will make it through. I don’t know when I will be back online on a regular basis. However, it will give me time to read, I hope. If so I will be writing reviews whenever possible. Please don’t think I am slacking off because I’m not. I will miss reading many wonderful posts to share on social media. I’ll probably lose some followers as well but I know my friends will be here when I return. I will miss you all and look forward to returning ASAP.  Please say a little prayer for me on Nov. 10th. Love you all. xoxo Patricia from The Writers Desk. ☺☺☺
