IRMA BARRELING IN MY DIRECTION

This is just a quick post to let all of my wonderful followers know that I will be off line for a few days. Living in South Florida (Broward County) is wonderful, except when hurricanes decide to rear their ugly heads. We will be heading to my daughters home after we batten down the hatches here. If we lose electricity, and we probably will, it will be safer for us to be at our daughter’s home. They have a generator and it will make it more comfortable for us to be with family at this time. Please keep all in Irma’s path in your prayers. We are hoping that she turns north and goes out to sea, but according to the weather forecasters current reports, that’s not likely.

Thank you for all your support and I hope to be back soon.

I will sign off for now, this is Patricia from The Writers Desk. God help us.

SISTER, SISTER

I have a sister, a baby sister. She is not a baby now, but, she will always be my baby sister.

She is beautiful, loving, a great mom, grandma, friend, and, sister. She is kind to a fault. Debbie will help anyone, and if she can’t she will find a way. But, yes there is a but. She listens to people who slam her self-esteem, her kindness and her love. There is no unconditional love in these people. They are mean and take advantage of her kindness.

I am writing this to let you know how much I love you, Debbie. I know you will never stop speaking with people that do this to you, but I also want you to know, no matter what your choices are, I will always love you, and, I will be here, even if it’s only to listen. Please don’t let others suck the life out of you. Know that your son is a good man and he loves you too. I want my followers and anyone who reads this to know how wonderful you are, but most of all I want you to know it, in your heart and soul. I am and until my dying day I will always be your sister and I love you unconditionally.

LOVES SECRETS

I’d appreciate some honest comments on the following. If this was a book would you buy it after reading the following. Thanking you all in advance. Patricia

Emoline Bronson looked out the window of the train. It was raining and she was trying to concentrate on the droplets that landed and were slowly making their way down the glass. However only one thought kept running through her mind. To kill or not to kill. All of her logic told her kill. Her heart however told her not to kill. The torment brought tears to her eyes. Could she take the life that was growing inside of her and just discard it without remorse.

WHEN I AM GONE

When I am gone, will my shadow stay.

Will you see me walking beside your shadow under the moon.

moon

Will the scent from flowers I liked remind you of me.

flowers

Will a gentle breeze across your face feel like a kiss from me.

When you hold an item I gave you will it feel like a hug from me.

When holidays come will I be remembered.

When you dream will I be there, and if I am,

is it really a dream, or could I be visiting you.

Speak to me with love in your voice, hug me whenever you can.

Hold me in your heart, forget about your pride

because tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone and regret lasts a lifetime.

9/11 REMEMBER….

I remember the exact moment when the first Air Liner crashed into the World Trade Center.

I was at work and Bob had a small TV on his desk and was watching the news. I was at my desk wiping down my computer and head set with alcohol, getting ready to start taking calls. I worked at AT&T in Florida. Suddenly I heard Bob say;

“Oh my God!”

I looked up and said;

“What?” as I walked over to his desk. Everyone gathered round Bob’s desk. We witnessed the next plane crash into Tower number two and at that moment the world changed.

The news casters reporting second by second and then a third plane crashed into the Pentagon. Fear gripped all of us. This can not be happening I thought. This is America. But, it did happen right here on our American soil.

With in minutes we were on lockdown. No one enters the building no one leaves. We were handling communications because New York’s were knocked out.

We were all given instructions on what was going on and what we had to do. I can not go into detail about that as it was classified. Every single person that worked in the building was doing one of the most important things they would ever do that day.

Those that did not work for AT&T were sent home. All the businesses in the area shut down. I don’t know what was going on outside our building but fear gripped me that day a fear that I had  never felt before. We all worked feverously around the clock. It was not the supervisors vs. craft  it was Americans doing what we do best. Working together side by side united as one for the good of all.

Food was sent in for all of us and we all worked long hours over the next couple of weeks. The company president sent us all an email thanking us and apologizing to us for the long hours we were putting in.

Later that day I started realizing that I had family that worked in that area of New York, mainly my brother. He worked for the cable company and was always at the World Trade Center among other places, but, was he there today? I tried to call but of course I couldn’t get through.

We and by we I mean every single American pulled together when this happened. It was the first time I bared witness to what UNITED STATES truly meant. Color, Race, Religion didn’t matter we were One Nation shoulder to shoulder and no one was going to take our Freedom away from us.

Our hearts break for the hero’s that gave their lives that day and for those family members that were left behind. They will never be forgotten, not by me, not by any single American, not by the World.

RIP,  Hero’s. We Will Never Forget You.

IN HONOR OF ALL MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE FOUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM

soldier

FREEDOM

They go by air and by sea to a foreign land

The heat and the dust burns their skin

They go not to fight but to lend a hand

In their hearts they carry freedom on their shoulders

They carry weapons in their eyes you can see honor

They leave behind their wives, husbands, children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters,

Aunts, uncles, cousins, girlfriends, boyfriends, the safety of their home, their jobs, home

cooked meals, holidays with their family and friends, seeing the birth of their children.

They follow in the foot steps of their ancestors before them, many will not return, but

they will persevere and in the end their honor and bravery, and the freedom they carry in

their hearts will rise up. The ones that have gone before them and have not returned are

there beside them shoulder to shoulder, heart to heart reminding them that freedom is not

free. So this holiday season when you are celebrating with family and friends doing the

things you are free to do, in your heart honor the men and women who have

made that possible for you.
